Food needs care...

... and so do the people working for its safety.

At EFSA, we offer flexible working hours, specific leave arrangements, international medical insurance, and a dedicated pension scheme for our employees.

You can join different clubs and sport teams, and benefit from our wellbeing initiatives.

We also have benefits for Young Professionals, Seconded National Experts  and Experts contributing to our work.

More than just work

Strong pension plan

When you have completed the pensionable age or if you have been in service for at least ten years, you are entitled to an EU pension.

Healthcare

We give you peace of mind through the Joint Sickness Insurance Scheme (JSIS) providing 24/7 coverage. You can also consult our on-site medical advisor and will undergo a yearly medical check-up.

Flexible working time

We offer flexible working hours and generous leave arrangements. Staff members work at EFSA’s headquarters located in the heart of Parma, and there are also teleworking options available.

Work-life balance

At EFSA you will be in an international working environment, where you can benefit from many training and development opportunities. During your time off you can explore the scenic surroundings of Parma, join staff groups and sports clubs, or participate in various wellbeing initiatives.

Generous holiday allowance

As an EFSA staff member, you are entitled to annual leave as well as additional leave days for age and distance from the place of origin. Special leave is granted for certain circumstances such as marriage, birth of a child, or death of a close relative.

Education for children

If you have children and wish them to benefit from a European education near your working place, you can enrol them in the “Scuola Per l’Europa”, an accredited European school with classes in English and other EU languages.
